VoIP Deregulation

On March 28, 2016, Idaho legislative leaders wrote the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, asking that it convene a group of interested parties to evaluate whether Idaho's current practice of not regulating Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and other Internet Protocol-Enabled services (IP) should be codified into state law.

Legislation proposed by AT&T would exempt VoIP from future regulation by the Commission. Attached is AT&T's 2015 draft legislation and an updated 2016 version.
