Workshop, hearing scheduled for Kuna
area water provider
The Idaho
Public Utilities Commission will conduct a workshop and a public hearing in
Kuna regarding a request to certify a new water company, the Idaho Springs
Water Company, which seeks to serve about 38 households and another 17 lots
where houses are being constructed. The case will also determine the rates to
be assessed customers.
The water
company would serve the Arrowrock Subdivision two miles east of Kuna.
Staff from
the commission will conduct a public workshop on Monday, May 19, at 7 p.m. at Kuna
Middle School, 1360 Boise St. in Kuna. At the workshop, customers will have the
opportunity to ask questions of the commission staff regarding the company’s
application.
On Tuesday,
July 1 at 7 p.m., the three commissioners who will decide the case will conduct
a public hearing, also at Kuna Middle School. Unlike a workshop, where
customers can ask questions, a public hearing is more formal. During the
hearing, customers of the company and other interested parties present oral
testimony to the commission on matters such as quality of service and rates.
Those who don’t want to testify can submit written comments by no later than
May 28.
Written comments are accepted via
e-mail by accessing the commission’s homepage at www.puc.idaho.gov and clicking on
"Comments & Questions." Fill in the case number (ISW-W-08-01) and
enter your comments. Comments can also be mailed to P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID
83720-0074 or faxed to (208) 334-3762.
